The original Phil's Fish Market, known as the Fish Market at Moss Landing, opened in 1982.
Our market started out very small, occupying a mere 250 square feet. We primarily sold locally caught fish. As our business grew, customers began referring to it as "Phil's Fish Market," and soon we added our first food item "Cioppino-to-go." The recipe for the sauce belonged to Phil's Mama Nina--his grandmother Nina Catalano.
Phil's Cioppino was the winner of Food Networks Throwdown with Bobby Flay in 2009 and has been featured on Jamie and Bobby Deen's Road Tasted on the Food Network during the summer of 2006. Phil's Cioppino has been written up several times in Sunset magazine as well as in many other magazines and newspapers. In 2007 celebrated our 25th anniversary. During these last years we have survived the Loma Prieta earthquake and we outgrew our original space. We moved to our present location, two buildings north of original Phil's, in February 2000. We continue to bring fresh seafood and new, exciting menu items to you. Enjoy!
